I may walk alone, but I’m never truly alone.
Discover the quiet strength in sensing a deeper presence that has always walked with you
I am solitary, but never alone.
Even my dog is left at home. He’s a puppy who distracts and this time of day, this process, this blessing requires that interruptions do not exist and nothing disturbs the precious presence that surrounds me.
As a person of faith, I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit who is always with me.
Though He is always there, I am not always aware because life interrupts. But, on these walks, I’m fully aware and filled with His presence.
Walking into the sunset is a spiritual practice that brings me peace, joy, silence, hope and a settled knowledge of walking into eternity — a walk that each one of us will take.
I am aware of everything around me, including the blessed oneness with nature and my Maker.
It’s a time for a conversation.
I not only feel, I hear, ask, and answer. I ask questions that often do not get an answer because it isn’t time for me to know.
At other times the answers come along with perfect peace and a deep “knowing.” We can all find peace, but it may require work — concentration, desire, and a determination to discover it.
We can have peace in the midst of chaos — it’s a determined choice.
I can’t explain how precious this time is to me. It is life and breath and more because it carries me into a realm I long to know and live in.
I know there is more in the universe than I can ever begin to see, hear or understand, but I draw closer each time God and I go for a walk into the Sunset.
I am never alone — I am in the company of a mystery.
Each day my awareness grows and I understand the depth and immense importance of becoming increasingly one with nature and God.
I yearn for more.
